What we do

Our primary focus is providing fast, patient-focused healthcare.

We design, mobilise, and manage clinical services that help NHS and independent healthcare organisations expand capacity and improve patient pathways to achieve better outcomes. Our solutions are clinically led; they are tailored to the specific needs of each organisation, the demands of each pathway, and the patients waiting to be seen.

Elective Care and Waiting List Recovery

We partner with NHS Trusts to reduce elective backlogs, improve RTT performance and create additional outpatient, diagnostic and treatment capacity. We begin with waiting list validation and clinical triage to ensure patient cohorts are accurately segmented and prioritised, before delivering targeted pathway support or complete end-to-end elective recovery programmes across a wide range of specialities. Services are available through insourced, outsourced or hybrid models, with flexible team configurations and extended-day or weekend delivery to maximise impact on waiting lists.

Diagnostic Services

We deliver fully integrated diagnostic services covering every stage of the pathway — from referral validation and patient preparation through to investigation, consultant reporting, urgent findings escalation and onward management. Our capability spans endoscopy, ultrasound and imaging, radiology reporting, breast, cardiac, respiratory and neurophysiology diagnostics, and histology and pathology support. Services integrate directly with your existing systems and governance frameworks, and can be delivered through insourcing, outsourcing, remote reporting or as a fully managed diagnostic programme.

Surgical and Procedural Pathways

We work across a broad range of specialities including general surgery, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, vascular, ENT, urology, gynaecology, ophthalmology and breast surgery, with clinical teams configured to match the requirements of each pathway. Services can be delivered within the client’s own estate, through an approved partner hospital, or as a hybrid model spanning multiple sites. Where complex or higher-acuity cases are identified, these are assessed and agreed separately.

Acute Pathway Managed Services

We specialise in outcome-focused clinical support across acute medicine, emergency care and hospital flow, designed to complement your existing substantive and temporary workforce. Our services span front-door and emergency clinical support, inpatient flow, long-stay patient review, discharge optimisation and community pathway coordination, delivered as consultant-only input, a full multidisciplinary team, or operational and pathway leadership. All models are built around measurable outcomes, including avoided admissions, reduced length of stay and improved discharge performance, with clear governance and transparent reporting throughout.

Outsourced and Managed Clinical Services

Where existing capacity cannot meet demand within required timeframes, The Medical and Diagnostic Care Group take full clinical and operational responsibility for a defined patient cohort or pathway and deliver it from an alternative approved setting. We manage the complete journey, from clinical validation and patient selection through to booking, treatment, results management and follow-up, with robust escalation, repatriation and governance frameworks in place. Delivery settings include independent hospitals, community diagnostic facilities and mobile diagnostic units, with hybrid models available across outpatient, diagnostic and day-case surgical pathways.

Pathway Optimisation and Operational Support

Our pathway optimisation service provides practical, clinician-informed improvement support, delivered as a standalone engagement or embedded within a wider clinical programme. We work with healthcare organisations to address the operational factors limiting capacity and performance — including waiting list validation, outpatient template redesign, theatre utilisation, cancer pathway mapping and acute flow improvement. Deliverables include demand and capacity models, pathway maps, workforce plans and KPI dashboards, all designed to deliver sustainable improvement beyond the period of our direct involvement.
